He has been released from the dementia that he endured so gracefully for the last ten years.Ī special thanks and gratitude to the exceptional caring staff at George E Whalen Veterans Home. He will be missed but we have so many, many beautiful memories to sustain us. He also has nieces and nephew who have loved their Uncle Harry for many years. One grandson, Damien Ray Mleso, preceded him in death. He has 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Marilyn Buckles Nord and their five children, Gregory Ray Nord, Eric Jon Nord, Richard Lee Nord, Jeffrey Herbert Nord and Sara Catherine Nord Mleso. His customers recognized his fairness and going completely above and beyond when needed. but more importantly, his business fairness and helping people. During his railroad service and after retiring, he ran and operated many auto- related business which utilized his mechanical skills. After discharge, he returned to his position as a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Harry served in Korea in the United States Army. In spite of these hard years, Harry and his sister became beautiful, caring and responsible individuals. War time meant working around the clock for Harry’s parents which left Harry and his younger sister on their own much of the time. They were then able to have a real home in the housing provided. They did not have a home until World War II started at which time his parents were both able to find employment in the shipyards in Richmond, California. Harry’s younger years occurred during the depression which forced his mother, father and sister to follow the fruit crops in California to support them. Harry married Marilyn Lee Buckles Jin Reno, Nevada and then sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple. He has one sister, Ermal Rose Nord Stockel and a brother, Ward Evan Davis, both proceeding him in death. He was born in Seattle, Washington on Augto Fred John Nord and Ermal Pauline Porter. We are sure he was welcomed with “Well done, my good and faithful servant. He had completed his earthly mission on this earth, which was to establish a beautiful family, to love, to teach, and to serve others. Our revered husband, father, grandfather, uncle and best friend, Harry Francis Ray Nord, of Pleasant View, Utah passed to his heavenly home on Maat the George E Whalen Veterans Home.
